Creating an Account allows you to make use of advanced features of the Sweeney Kincaid website such as making offers and proxy bids.

This is a 'once-only' process and when you have created an account we will be able to pre-populate forms used on the site to help you communicate with us. You can also optionally select to be kept informed of sales by specific category.

To update you on the progress of lot sales/purchases by email or phone call. Please note that you can opt out of receiving these emails at any time through your account preferences. Where you no longer wish to receive emails we may still contact you via live telephone call. Contractual Condition We will be unable to buy/sell lots on your behalf.
Bank Details To make payments to you in relation to asset sales we have concluded on your behalf as your agent. Contractual Condition We will be unable to sell lots on your behalf and/or pay proceeds to you.
We may collect and hold your bank details where you have registered as a buyer or seller and we may require to obtain a deposit from you before you can bid on items Contractual Condition Legitimate interests (to protect our business) We may be unable to accept bids from you unless you have a deposit on file.
VAT Number We also collect your VAT number (if applicable) to allow us to ensure we are applying the correct VAT codes to your sale/purchase Legal obligation We will be unable to sell lots of your behalf or administer your purchase of items where you are buying on behalf of a business that is exporting out with the UK.

We contract with third party service providers and suppliers to deliver certain services.

The following third parties may have access to your personal information and, in some circumstances, your special category data (if applicable), for the purposes noted below:

  • any other person who is authorised to act on your behalf;
  • regulators, government departments, law enforcement authorities, tax authorities and insurance companies;
  • any relevant dispute resolution body or the courts; and
  • persons in connection with any sale, merger, acquisition, disposal, reorganisation or similar change in our business;
  • our waste management company, Paper Shredding Services Limited, who take care of our shredding and waste disposal requirements;
  • our IT support, ARL Software Ltd, who provides assistance in relation to our desktop applications that run our internal system;
  • our IT hardware support, Solutions on Demand, who provide IT support for our devices and printing;
  • our IT support J Gledhill, who provides servers support
  • our database administrator, Hidden Brains, who maintain our internal database;

We will not sell, trade or lease your personal information to others.

The data that we collect from you will usually be stored inside the UK or the European Economic Area (EEA).

However, if you live or work outside of the UK or the EEA, we may need to transfer your personal data outside of the UK or the EEA to correspond with you. Where this applies, we will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy notice.

We also may transfer data outside the UK or the EEA where our service providers host, process, or store data outside the UK or the EEA. Where we do this, we will ensure that the transfer is to a country covered by a decision of the Commission of the European Union or is otherwise made in circumstances where we have put appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with the Data Protection Law:

  • our database developer, Hidden Brains, who are based in India;

We will not hold your personal information for any longer than is necessary for the uses outlined above, unless we are required to keep your personal data longer to comply with the law and any regulatory requirements.

We will retain your personal information for a period of 30 years after our last contact from you to allow us to inform you of our upcoming sales and auctions that may be of interest to you, unless you have contacted us to say that you wish us to delete your personal information from our records.
